The higher ups at HP must’ve read my post from yesterday, because today they killed not just the TouchPad, but WebOS as well.
On a related note, the Wall Street Journal is reporting HP is also returning to their IT geek roots by dumping their PC business (about time) and making a bid for analytics firm Autonomy.
Good for them. It’s the first really smart move they’ve made in a few years. Consumers are fickle and not particularly loyal when it comes tech. IT people on the other hand have a job to do and they want to know whatever they’re buying will work and the company will be around next year to support them.
